life is hectic. i like not doing homework in general and for the past few weeks i've had an excuse not to. THE PLAY! w00t. if you didn't come to a performance of the The Fantasticks you really missed out. it was pretty sweet. I played a vegetable-lovin' old guy. you like it.
prom was.... interesting. i think it epitomized las vegas, which is fortuante for our student council who picked out that theme for the night's festivities. there was drama. there was drinking. and what happens and prom doesn't stay at prom.... i'm hoping to add pictures to my blog soon.
school = failure. so, i've become an alcoholic drug adict who trips off ecstasy all day. not quite, but you wouldn't be able to tell sometimes because i've been turning in like no homework and doing surprisingly bad on some examinations (i.e. history tests). now that the play is over i plan on buckling down and working hard for these last few weeks *cough* *cough*.
rap is my life? so, while i was at this eucharistic-minister workshop (question mark), we did a little ice breaker so everyone from the different schools could get to know each other. sometimes i forget who i seem to be (white, tall, modest, quiet catholic school girl)... so when our instructor asked who liked rap music i stood up without hestitation. only to find that i was the only girl and the only white person standing. then i brushed my shoulders off and practically (accidentally) licked some guy trying to feed me the crouton o' christ. it was quite enjoyable.

denied. but in a good way
Little Shop of Horrors, the first play i was cast in, and or ex-spring musical will not appear on Sacred Heart's Assembly Room stage. it is a sad reality, i know. however, The Fantasticks will take over and whoop Little Shop of Horrors pansy butt. yeah, it will! in LSH I was cast as a Mr. Mushnick, a fairly large part, but sort of depressing because he was weird and sort of a tool. HOWEVER, in Fanta (short for Fantasticks) i am cast as Bellomy. This part is the best. out of the fathers, i have most of the better lines. PLUS, i get to play an almost-gay, not really, energetic guy who loves vegetables. i'm lovin' it! I hope that you're marking this rockin' show in your daily planner...
i also received the lowest grade i have gotten to date in my AP US History class this past week. I got a 44% on my 3rd Quarter cumulative multiple-choice test. in my defense, there were 25 VERY difficult ap-style questions that we had to complete in 20 minutes spanning from colonial America to the Roaring Twenties. it was an eye-opening experience.
I also watched Silence of the Lambs for the first time on thursday night at allison's. i must say, that it was freaky and weird. however, i was not all that scared--for once in my life. go me! it was also one of the first scary movies where i have not seen the twirly, looking-up-at-the-sky-asking-why numbers where the victim (or soon-to-be-victim) inquires "What are you waiting for?" or in some cases "Come and get me!"

you probably heard it somewhere else first
that's right. i am in a play. a play where people act. not a summer program where everyone is required to be cast in one part or another. not a kindergarten play where all the children have parts. this is an actual play where auditions were held, there was deliberation, and even singing in front of people. and i am in it. i am going to play mushnik in our school's production of Little Shop of Horrors. that's not even just chorus. i have an understudy. it's also great because a bunch of my friends are in it too: allison is audrey (the LEAD), melissa is the plant (an AWE$OME part) and yeah a bunch of other really gruel people.
mardi gras was not up to par. i think the drunk lady with glow-in-the-dark rings stuck in her shirt who later flashed for a bag of regular sized pearls might have ruined it for me. but then again, i did get a nice-sized bouquet of fake roses....
i don't wanna go back to school. when i go back i will be confronted with the all-too-true realization that i have a butt-load of things i must do and some that are already late. like, for instance, i have not started ACTUALLY researching for my history paper and haven't started reading my independent reading book. hmmm.... procrastination- so tasty and delicious.
well, i must away. i have to take a shower in order that i can play a basketball game against st. mary's (who will crush us and utterly annihilate our team). w00t!

my heart is as full as a baked potato
well, it's true. i am 17. i have not yet taken advantage of my superior ability to rent, watch, and buy rated R movies (or NC-17 movies for that matter!), but i have borrowed a few from trey and marcy gave me garden state.... my birthday party was awesome. if you weren't there, then you just sucked. there was fondue, there was dancing, there was candy, there were bougies, there were presents.... there were even some crazy sea animals!
as all of you know, jane was in for an extended weekend. which was, as she would say, de-lightful. highlights of her stay: jane going for the dozen, schpedoinkling, CRAZY party, my mom's story about her running into babies... good times all around. i'm hoping to go visit soon (mardi gras? summer?)
thank you for everyone's birthday wishes and gifts, they were all very much appreciated. i heart all my friends.
and just remember, "let's build a snowman. we can make him tall, or we can make him not-so-tall. we can name him bob. or we can name him BEOWULF!"

white christmas
i hoped. i dreamed. i never really thought that we, in new orleans, would have a white christmas. but we did. it SNOWED! pictures soon.
back to school monday; i know what you're all thinking-- what will you do without me. that is a good question. however, the better question is what will i do once i get back to school, because not only did i do quite badly on two of my exams, but i also have a mountain of work that is due in the near future: my reasearch paper, reading for history, college stuff for mrs. birtel, basketball, yearbook...
also, JANE IS COMING IN TOWN!!! she will arrive the 13th of january (that thursday, if that's the 13th...) and leave that monday (MY 17th and golden birthday). yes, much fun will be had seeing as its my birthday and that it is jane. a party is imminent.
the christmas holidays, however, were not up to par. last year i had sweet 16, les pierrettes, stalking jonathan, sweet christmas presents and other good times. this year, was not so good. first of all, some people were out-of-town. then, some people were having parties all over the place without me. yeah, that's not cool, guys. well., happy new year, to me!

all i want for christmas is you
school is almost out. christmas is right around the corner. we've won 4 basketball games (which is more than we've done any other year since i've been in high school). meg is coming in town. it's all good, right? denied. it is all wrong, because i have to take exams next week and because i think i'm getting a sore throat.
last night, after the game against Grand Coteau, which we ROCKED, allison, erin, jonathan and i went to dinner at chun lee's. it was...different. good job on picking a restaurant that wasn't gross, jonathan! after our dinner we got 4 fortune cookies with our bill. and we also received 4 glasses of absinthe-looking liquor. i took a sip- it tasted like cantaloupe juice. v. sketch.
there has been an ongoing war between my ghetto black cat minou and my spoiled white cat, iris. it has recently come to a crisis situation. they can not be in the same room without trying to rip each other's heads off. who will ultimately be the victor? A) minou who has lived on the streets B) iris who stands up on two feet and has 2 other forearms left for smaking and fwacking around anyone who messes with her. cast your votes now!
