well, i'm back from Colorado Springs and ready for HP (Harry Potter). I am almost finished the first book and plan to read the other 5 before the 6th one comes out on July 16. I know, I know... a feat impossible to any mortal man. But i am SARAH, hear me roar.
Colorado springs:
- went up the cog railway to the top of Pike's Peak (14,110 feet up there)
- went to the Broadmoor hotel
- went shopping for apartment goodies for meg's new pad (probably the most exciting part for me)
- went horseback riding in the Garden of the Gods
- went to Manitou Springs...
it was very exciting and if you didn't get a postcard then I don't know your address (and somehow that is your fault).
anyway, the countdown to the beach has begun. i leave to go to Gulf SHores with the Manns later this month (around July 20th). the cd yearbook deadline is August 2 (shoot me now). i haven't started my summer reading books and i heard that they're mostly snooze fests... i haven't even thought about my senior speech let alone write it... BOO! i hate school and i'm not even in it.
oh, well. the hope and dream of another magical harry potter adventures looms close at hand. i will not rest until my fantasmagorical journey through hp land is complete!! (i promise i'm cool.)

WOPRAH...again!
explanation of woprah post seen below...
for the details of this interesting title, talk to me
for the details of this interesting title, talk to me
Woprah!
things i've been up to:
1. price is right--it's a great show
2. reading
3. doing crossword puzzles--i promise i'm not old!
4. mourning about my ghetto phone
5. spending my measly $40 a week on important things such as jewelry and coffee
6. developing a long-lasting, deep and intimate relationship with my beautiful baby girl (Iris)
other than snuggling up with my cat and a good book, i've been doing a whole lot of nothing. I know, sounds boring. but it's not a promise. among other things i've had a party. only 5 people showed up including myself, and i admit that The Game of Life isn't as intense or exciting as perhaps Spin the Bottle, Charades or even Pictionary, but it was delightful. and in lieu of a tower of beer cans, there was a mighty high tower of empty diet cokes. i know i wish i would have invited you, but i must restrict my Life parties and Disney-themed movie nights to VIPs. sorry, grandma.
well, i must get back to my busy schedule of trying to forget the past year's education and napping. Little Shop tonight! w00t!
feed me, FEED me, FEED MEEEE!

bead sorting. a lot like jabbing a pencil in your eye
imagine this-- a store that sells beads. row with shelves with trays of beads. walls of beads. that i must sort and sort and sort. organziation is a passion of mine, i must admit. however, beads all begin to look the same. not only are there different types of beads (color, cut, size), but there are also about 20 different places that exact bead could be within the store because there is only a somewhat logical system to the store's organization. it can be quite frustrating. plus, i usually finish what i'm doing in about an hour to an hour and a half, and in order that i get to 8 hours a week i must walk around the store (not talking to customers, heaven forbid!) but looking through tiny compartments of beads trying to find out-of-place little buggers. Bof!
in other news, themed nights are cool. so far there has only been one--Arabian Nights. and only i dressed up, but it was awesome. i'm looking forward to Pochahontas night, and Mulan night... p.s. i'm not a dork. remember that!
i am a movie fiend... i've watched like 8 or so movies in the theater in the past 2 weeks, and countless more at my house. if anyone has any ideas of things other than watching television or a movie that i could do, PLEASE tell me. i'm going insane.

life is ____________. you like it.
life is hectic. i like not doing homework in general and for the past few weeks i've had an excuse not to. THE PLAY! w00t. if you didn't come to a performance of the The Fantasticks you really missed out. it was pretty sweet. I played a vegetable-lovin' old guy. you like it.
prom was.... interesting. i think it epitomized las vegas, which is fortuante for our student council who picked out that theme for the night's festivities. there was drama. there was drinking. and what happens and prom doesn't stay at prom.... i'm hoping to add pictures to my blog soon.
school = failure. so, i've become an alcoholic drug adict who trips off ecstasy all day. not quite, but you wouldn't be able to tell sometimes because i've been turning in like no homework and doing surprisingly bad on some examinations (i.e. history tests). now that the play is over i plan on buckling down and working hard for these last few weeks *cough* *cough*.
rap is my life? so, while i was at this eucharistic-minister workshop (question mark), we did a little ice breaker so everyone from the different schools could get to know each other. sometimes i forget who i seem to be (white, tall, modest, quiet catholic school girl)... so when our instructor asked who liked rap music i stood up without hestitation. only to find that i was the only girl and the only white person standing. then i brushed my shoulders off and practically (accidentally) licked some guy trying to feed me the crouton o' christ. it was quite enjoyable.

denied. but in a good way
Little Shop of Horrors, the first play i was cast in, and or ex-spring musical will not appear on Sacred Heart's Assembly Room stage. it is a sad reality, i know. however, The Fantasticks will take over and whoop Little Shop of Horrors pansy butt. yeah, it will! in LSH I was cast as a Mr. Mushnick, a fairly large part, but sort of depressing because he was weird and sort of a tool. HOWEVER, in Fanta (short for Fantasticks) i am cast as Bellomy. This part is the best. out of the fathers, i have most of the better lines. PLUS, i get to play an almost-gay, not really, energetic guy who loves vegetables. i'm lovin' it! I hope that you're marking this rockin' show in your daily planner...
i also received the lowest grade i have gotten to date in my AP US History class this past week. I got a 44% on my 3rd Quarter cumulative multiple-choice test. in my defense, there were 25 VERY difficult ap-style questions that we had to complete in 20 minutes spanning from colonial America to the Roaring Twenties. it was an eye-opening experience.
I also watched Silence of the Lambs for the first time on thursday night at allison's. i must say, that it was freaky and weird. however, i was not all that scared--for once in my life. go me! it was also one of the first scary movies where i have not seen the twirly, looking-up-at-the-sky-asking-why numbers where the victim (or soon-to-be-victim) inquires "What are you waiting for?" or in some cases "Come and get me!"

you probably heard it somewhere else first
that's right. i am in a play. a play where people act. not a summer program where everyone is required to be cast in one part or another. not a kindergarten play where all the children have parts. this is an actual play where auditions were held, there was deliberation, and even singing in front of people. and i am in it. i am going to play mushnik in our school's production of Little Shop of Horrors. that's not even just chorus. i have an understudy. it's also great because a bunch of my friends are in it too: allison is audrey (the LEAD), melissa is the plant (an AWE$OME part) and yeah a bunch of other really gruel people.
mardi gras was not up to par. i think the drunk lady with glow-in-the-dark rings stuck in her shirt who later flashed for a bag of regular sized pearls might have ruined it for me. but then again, i did get a nice-sized bouquet of fake roses....
i don't wanna go back to school. when i go back i will be confronted with the all-too-true realization that i have a butt-load of things i must do and some that are already late. like, for instance, i have not started ACTUALLY researching for my history paper and haven't started reading my independent reading book. hmmm.... procrastination- so tasty and delicious.
well, i must away. i have to take a shower in order that i can play a basketball game against st. mary's (who will crush us and utterly annihilate our team). w00t!
